If you give a Moose a Muffin....

O.K., so there are no Moose around here, but if you have ever read that children's book, you know what I mean.  If you start one thing then it leads to another.  The day before Thanksgiving, we decided to try out some flooring that we were thinking about putting downstairs.  Our son's bathroom the testing ground...

                       
  Before:  Boring, boring, boring.  This is how it was when we bought this house, 6 years ago. 

                     
       The new floor going down over the old lino.....good so far...

But, if you redo the floor, then you need to paint the walls....and then you need to put in new base moldings, of course...

                   
   And then you need to make some new quick art to hang on the wall...

                 
  Next, new light fixture for above the vanity...new towel bar...new shower curtain rod (0ne of those curved ones, in brushed nickel). Check, check, and check!  All purchased, and ready to hang!  

    So you see what I mean?  If you give a Moose a muffin, then he wants a glass of milk to go with it!!

Thanksgiving was a lovely day here in Northern California...

                 
The sun was out, the sky was blue, and the air was crisp!  Just how I like it!  This is the beautiful view out the back of my Mom and Dad's house in Stockton.  My hubs was working, so it was just the four of us...Mom, Dad, myself, and Alex.  I lucked out, because all I had to do was make a couple of pies!  One for us, and one for the firehouse!  I made yummy Caramel Pecan pies, and I thought that I would share the super easy recipe with you!  It is what I call a "cheater" recipe...not from scratch, but faster, and a lot less messy to make!  Plus, it is not as sweet as a traditional pecan pie! Yuumy warmed up with vanilla bean ice cream....

                       

                                             CARAMEL PECAN PIE

                 1 refrigerator roll out pie crust (or you can make your own)

2/3 cup of sugar

1/4 cup butter or margarine (melted)

3 eggs

1 jar (12 oz) Smuckers Caramel Topping

1 1/2 cups of pecan halves (I added a little more)

Preheat oven to 350...In mixing bowl beat eggs slightly with a fork. Add sugar, and stir until dissolved. Stir in Caramel topping and butter...mix well. Stir in pecans. Pour into pie shell.  Bake for 45 minutes or until knife inserted in middle comes out clean.

             This adorable little girly was in our Silver Bella packets... with all that is going on in the U.S. it just rang so true to me.  We must keep fighting for the freedom to be who we are...

       This is my table at Silver Bella vendor night... I finally took a pic towards the end of the evening, so I had already sold quite a lot.  I picked up that green metal shelf when I was in Manzanita, Oregon, and my friend Lonnie was kind enough to ship it to Omaha with her stuff for vendor night.  The table came together just how I had pictured it....with my cute little banner (made by Jen Duncan) across the top!  Speaking of Lonnie, her table was full of beautiful jewelery, and adorable glittery snowmen and birdies!  But alas, I didn't get a picture.

I am waiting for the box with the swaps that I did, and some more of the goodies that I bought to arrive from Omaha soon...meanwhile, I will show you some pretties from my studio...

                    

                                             

                                

                                      

                              

 

I went to Silver Bella, and I didn't put glitter on one project...can you believe it?!!!  O.K. well I did use a little mica...love that stuff!  

                            

  It all started off with a busload of Bella's, graciously put together by Jessi.  There were prizes for everyone...a stop at a huge antique store, a Hobby Lobby (to pickup any forgotten supplies), and a great scrapbook store for even more papers, and goodies.

                I think that just about everyone found something at our first stop, the Brass Armadillo... There certainly was a long line at check out.  I shipped most of my stuff home, so I will have to show it later.

I didn't forget you...

And I hope that you haven't forgotten about me!  I know I haven't posted for awhile...but I have been making jewelery like a crazy person.  Trying to finish all of those "works in progress", and starting new ones!  Tomorrow I am off to beautiful Omaha, Nebraska to attend Silver Bella!!  I am so excited to see all of my old Bella friends, and meet the new Bella's... and thrilled to have a table of my goods at Bella Vendor Night!  So for now, I will leave you with closeup shots of one of my swaps!
