This is what we made in Rebecca Sower's class...

Prayer Collage.

It has one of my favorite prayers, and I can remember singing it in church when I was a kid...... I didn't get any of Rebecca's classes last year at Silver Bella, so I was glad to have this one.  She is so sweet, and generous with extras to add to our collage.
I so wanted one of the extra kits that she had from her pretty fabric adornment class, but she ran out..... I did take a pic though, so maybe I can try it on my own......Isn't it pretty?

Bella Workshops........

Sally Jean's  was my last one on Saturday..... There never was a picture on the class list of what we were making for sure. Only that it was called Snow Globe, and that we would be putting little lovelies inside that would be "free floating".  Although I had soldered a fair amount years ago (high school), my latest attempts (a couple of years ago), ended in soldering tools being stored away!
So when I finished this  project....
I have to say, that I was pretty excited!

It is made from a vintage bottle. ...imagine slicing it in the middle, and then putting glass on the top and bottom.   We were given the already cut glass. There would not have been time to do it all in our 3 hours or so. Inside is a vintage German doll, pearls, and broken christmas balls.

Sally was a great teacher, very concise, and easy to follow.  I would love to go to Portland, and take on of her longer workshops sometime.  For now, I will have to find that box with the silver gleem solder, and cut glass, and try again, now that I know what I was doing wrong.

Lucky girl.......

  My friend, and one of my roomies at  this event,  Michelle and I have both made the comment several  times, how we are so lucky to be able to attend wonderful events such as this. We did meet at SB last year, although more in passing. We were able to get to know each other better at Art in Ashland, which led to being roomies here. Next we will see each other in Feb. at Art Nest. (along with Kari, and Cossandra). So see what I mean about being LUCKY! I know that I have said it before, but to spend time with, and meet such generous women that "get it", feeds your soul.  It is like you are in this dreamy state while you are there, and it keeps on as you return home, and look back on it all.  Then you get to check in with all of the fabulous people that you got to see...both new friends, and old via Blogland!
  My other roomie Lonnie, couldn't have been a better match!  I think that it was serendipitous (love that word), that Michelle and I "advertised" for a third to share our room, and Lonnie replied.  Not only did she and I have 4 out of 5 classes together, by total accident, but several people thought that we had been friends for along time! She had a booth at vendor night, and I was lucky to get a sneak preview of what she was going to sell, and pick out some favorites ahead of time.  I didn't take many pictures, but here is her booth...
Both she, and Michelle, are such great talents, and I am happy to call them friends.  (Be sure to check out the fabric fatbook that Michelle hosted on her blog. It was stunning in person, and made me have "swap envy" that I didn't participate!)

My, oh My...

I can't wait to show you all what I made at Silver Bella!  It was so much fun, and I met such wonderful gals...from last year, and also new to the event!  The projects were all fabulous, and I wish I could have done them all!  Unfortunately, I only got to pick 5, but they were all so fun!  I will post pics in the next day or so. Some aren't quite finished, due to limited time, and also, because I just wanted to put some of my own touches, using "stuff" I have at home. 

Omaha, here I come......

Well, I am on my way to Omaha.....I am sitting in the Denver airport waiting on my connection, as I type this.  Isn't technology wonderful?!  I can while away time, looking at all of your beautiful blogs, and get more excited about Silver Bella by the minute.  How lucky am I?

UP,Up and Away......

Tomorrow, I am off to Omaha!  Omaha? as in Nebraska?  Whatever for?... SILVER BELLA, of course!  I am so excited to be going to this wonderful event again.  I went last year, all by my lonesome, not knowing a soul.  What wonderful friends I met, and will get to see again. I will try to post while there, but I can't promise anything........
