Life is a Collage....

My answer to the Tiffany bracelet.....

I guess you could call it the Natalie and Co. bracelet!   OR the Tiffa-Bee bracelet! Ha! Made from 99.9% pmc pure silver, adorned with pretty Czech glass beads, wrapped with silver wire....now on my Etsy... seller name lifeisacollage.

So adorable, and really sparkly in person!  It hangs asymmetrically, like in the picture....love that. As cute with jeans, as it is with a little black dress.......

Yellow Haired Girl.....

I had a comment a week or so ago, by a lovely gal, who said that the paintings I had been doing "made her heart sing".  I mean how much better of a compliment could a girl get than that?!  She asked about a "yellow-haired" girl...  Up until now, I had only done brunettes of many shades, and redheads....The blonde shading had alluded me.
But,  I am really happy with the way she turned out...thanks Kara for the push!  And in honor of you, the dimensional "singing heart" says "my heart is filled with joy"!!
I wish I had a better camera, because the colors are deep, and lovely!...

Alameda flea....

A few weeks ago, I met my friend Lonnie, who lives in Oregon, at the Alameda Flea market....she was visiting SFO for her daughters' choir concerts there. It was so nice to try to catch up a little since last year's Silver Bella.  I also got to meet Colleen Moody(second from the left), and Iva Wilcox...I had, of course, heard of both of them , but we had never met....The art that they both create is fabulous!  And, in the Summer, we have a fun weekend planned, that will also include Stacy (all the way from Texas)!!  Yay!  A girl's weekend...love those!

Another Catch up post.....

My sweet Bella friend Stacy and I decided to do a spring orni swap.  We called it our Heart felt swap. The only rule was to make it "Springy",able to hang from a tree (or soemthing), and use felt in it somehow. We invited some others, and the beauty that arrived is amazing.....


Stacy made the lovely felt prize ribbon...I made the little scotty dogs, with each person's initial embroidered on it...of course I had to make one for myself!
My dear friend, and Silver Bella roomie, Lonnie, made this gorgeous heart...and look at the adorable key with an initial soldered on it to wear around my neck!

soldered pendant. It is huge...

I decided to hang all of mine on a vintage lampshade wire base...

So much fun...

I am really enjoying doing these paintings. (Like I need another hobby! )  I do them in layers, and step away between each. Not just to let it dry, but also, to come back with a different perspective. Sometimes it is for a few hours, and sometimes for a day or so.                
I love that they usually turn out different than what I had in mind when I started.  It's like watching your children grow and evolve!

Sometimes it is hard to "put yourself out there", but I took deep breath, and did it...  I listed a couple on my Etsy (lifeisacollage), and one on my website.

More painting....

I've been working on some more paintings... I finished these, and have two more in the works!














It was pointed out to me, that the paintings that I did for Cheryl and Jessi, kind of looked like them. Cheryl with short, reddish hair...and Jessi, with long dark hair.  In actuality, I only specifically used colors that I thought would appeal to them....

I realized that it kind of looked like me!!! without the glasses!!

I hope that everyone had a happy, blessed Easter... Ours was a lazy day, that concluded with a lovely dinner at my Mom and Dad's...

   I had to show you a picture of this beautiful colored egg that my mom made....It was a brown egg, so the blue came out very muted, and then she speckled it with a tiny bit of red. It just looked like it belonged in a nest!

Spontaneity?...

Generally I am not the spontaneous type. Especially when it comes to a vacation, or weekend away.  But Last Sunday, Alex and I decided to go to Disneyland on Tuesday.  He called my Mom/his Grandma to see if she was interested in going with us, and on Monday, I booked a hotel!  Since it was spring break for many students (including Alex), I figured that it would be crowded. Tues evening and Wed. weren't too bad, but Thursday! yikes!  Good thing we rode most everything that we wanted on Wednesday! 70 min. wait for Space Mountain, and buy the time we hit it, all of the fast-passes for the day were gone!  I'm used to going in the off season, when the longest lines are 30 minutes.  We still had a fun time, at the "happiest place on earth", and I learned something new...that my  artist grandfather worked for Disney for a short period of time!

How cute is he!?  And the dessert isn't bad either!  Chocolate brioche bread pudding with caramel, chocolate sauce, and rum raisin ice cream!
