We took down the old big mirror, had to patch the wall a bit, added molding above the backsplash, and
a new light fixture...(I unscrewed two lights, because they make me too hot when I am getting ready!)

I found these great matte silver leaf mirrors at Home Goods for only $39.00 each!  Although, one of them slipped off the end cap and landed on my foot and broke one of my toes! Painful! I still like them, and they look great with the brushed nickel fixtures and knobs.

The cabinet was Oak, and if you read my blog, you will remember that along time ago, I painted it as a test before I painted the cabinets in my kitchen! I love them in both places!






I haven't decided what is going to go in between the mirrors yet...maybe I'll do a painting or beeswax collage to go there?
 






















 

I'd like you to meet Sea Flower....

She's a pretty little gal.  She loves frolicking in the water, and swimming with the dolphins. Like Ariel, she is dreaming about what it would be like to walk on land.  She does look fashionable in her shells though...don't you think?

 
She is 12 x12, and has mica flakes on her lower extremity! I need to remember to take a pic, before I add the gloss sealer though. The sealer show off so much dimension, in person, but makes it difficult to take a pic without a glare.  I'm gonna put her on my etsy site...along with Marie.  (whom I love, but the pink just won't go with really anything in my house). 

Over the top excited....

I am thrilled to be able to teach some classes here!  On Saturday (7/18/09, "Charmed I'm sure"... and on Sunday (7/19/09), "There's no place like home".  I will teach the metal clay end of it, and Terri will teach how to make a soldered chain for the bracelet on day one, and the "House" pendant on day two.   And, I was lucky enough to be able to combine it with the trip to Portland that I already had planned this summer with Stacy, Lonnie, and Colleen!  How perfect is that! 
  It really was "serendipitous" how it all came about.  I received an e-mail from a gal, who loved my charms, and was inquiring about them for her shop. Turns out, she was using her friend's e-mail address, and so when I responded , it didn't go to her, it went to her friend Terri, of Terri Brush Designs.  Make sense?  Terri then contacted me, and and we got to talk'in... She does lovely art classes in her home, and invited me to come and do a couple!  See what I mean? One thing let to another.  SO, if you are in the Portland or Seattle area, I'd love for you to join us! She is in Chehalis, about halfway in between!  Oh my, I just found out that there are only 3 spots left in the Sat class!!

I have a new look.....

What do you think?  My lovely art friend, and designer extraordinaire, Heather, did the banner for me.  I took the pic of some of  the jewelery I make, and she foofed it up...and changed the format, column sizes etc. I love the clean lines of it now.  Thanks again, Heather!!

Marie...

Although I haven't jumped on the Marie Antoinette bandwagon,  I love looking at all of the Marie art that is out there.  It's fun to see the interpretations, and I mean who doesn't  love all things French!  I have been thinking about the Marie 'do, and so I decided to paint my own version of her...


 
She had vintage rhinestone's around her neck...and of course the text says, "Let them eat Cake."





I also did this one this week.  I put a really glossy sealer on the top, and so it's hard to get a good pic...without the glare..

Custom necklaces...

A few weeks ago, my hairdresser asked if I could make her a necklace in the style of something that she saw in a local lingerie boutique.  They were $350.00 each! This is the first one I made for her........



The "Ave Maria" finding is the exact same one that was in one of them. 
I recognized it, because I had bought one a few months ago, but hadn't used it! 
Now, I didn't copy the original, I want everyone to know...but I think that it is along the style that she was wanting...

She had also asked for something with a Buddha on it. There are so many different likenesses of Buddha however, so when I saw this lovely silver finding with the asian scene on it, I thought she might like it. 



I showed it to her, and she did!  She wanted something with pretty, sparkly, smoky crystal beads. These have a smoky, slightly green tinge to them, and are lovely in person!


Hope she loves what I have come up with for her! And, at less than 1/3 the cost!

Mirrors...and Visite Paris...

Boo hoo.  The mirrors that I thought were going to be fabulous in the "new" bathroom were too big. Seems that I didn't take the location of an outlet into account!  So back to the store they went.  Now I am on the hunt again for 2 matching, and at a good price! I have a feeling that they are going to see alot of me at Home Goods in the near future! So, pics of the other side of the room will have to wait...

I have named my new silver creation Visite Paris...

It is a 7 1/2 inch Sterling silver toggle bracelet, with 4 ,Pure silver ,3/4 inch charms!  I have made them using  vintage style wax seals....And, the blank space on the laurel wreath charm can be personalized with a little initial! It looks great as is, but you could also add your own sterling silver charms to fill it in even more. What a great gift...for yourself, or a friend!  I will be listing this on my Etsy(lifeisacollage), and my website soon!
